The classrooms at Little Friends School are divided into centers to allow the children to learn through a variety of sensory modalities. They experience new concepts through touch, taste, smell, sight and sound.
The children are encouraged to plan their day. They have the opportunity to share with friends, take turns and have one-on-one time with the teachers. Many skills and concepts are taught. The youngest children learn to feed themselves and speak more clearly while the older children ask more questions and delve into topics more thoroughly.
Many of the children also learn basic reading and writing skills to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond. They develop a love of reading, a lifelong skill that is the basis for all learning. Lessons revolve around all areas of development including language, motor, and self-help skills, cognitive and social/emotional develop.
The school also takes the children on day trips. Here are some examples of the places we take the children:
Our highly trained and experienced teachers provide a stimulating learning environment where all children are encouraged to explore and learn.
